What a gorgous gurl! I work at a photo studio and I really like this pic
I'm not a pro, however I have belong to an agility club for 8 years. I have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, named Carson, he is 6 1/2. We had great fun doing agility, but he is now retired. Oh, we still do some playing our in my yard, but, not too much. I am fortunate to have some of my own equipment. Now I run a Border Collie named Reata. She was given to me by my neighbor. Never thought to own a BC, but I'm sure glad I have her. She is 3 years old and much different than my Chessie.
The main thing I would like to metion is that make "fun" your focus. Learn how to laugh at yourself, mainly, then with your dog. Oh, its real easy to get frustrated, however, try to just laugh things off. Also, try to not say "no!" Even if your dog may go over the wrong obsticle. Remember, your dog won't know why you say "no!" If your dog is food driven (like Carson) then by all means, don't be stingy with treats. However, keep them tiny. I find that cut up hotdogs work really well. If you dog is toy/ball driven (like Reata) then by all means use a toy.
Another thing I would like to add, is if you do not like what an instructor wants her to do, if you or she is uncomfortable, then do not do that certain exercise or obsticle at that time. Also, don't be shy, speak up and let the instructor know how you dog responds. Years ago when I started with Carson, an instructor took him by the collar and tried to pull him up the dog walk. Big mistake, it took me a while with positive reinforcement to cure Carson of his fear.
Anyway, I with you nothing but contacts on the yellow, no dropped bars and clean running times! Have fun and enjoy the experience with your gal!
