Flat Foot

mcabanillas Jan 11, 2005 11:13 AM

I have a question. I have a Boxer puppy who is 10 weeks old. Yesterday I took her to the vet for the first time (I just got her 3 days ago). The vet says she looks really healthy but that she noticed that she is walking funny. She said she looks like she has flat feet and has never seen anything like it. I have never had a Boxer so I do not know what they are supposed to look like. The vet did not think it would require surgery but thought that she would probably not grow up to be the most active Boxer. She even thought I might want to return her and get another puppy. That is not an option because I am already in love. However, I want to know if anyone has ever heard of something like this? Is there anything I can do to make it better?

Feet can change, as puppies start teething, if she's stressed(when did you get her? Give up to three weeks after you get her for stress affected areas to go back to normal), and feeding. What are you feeding her?

I have a flatter footed dog here, and it doesn't affect her energy level at all. She's out and racing her brotheres all the time.
