Aggressive yorkie for no reson - NEED HELP

202tomas Jan 14, 2005 08:39 PM

Hello,
our dog is female, 1 year and 5 months old, and couple weeks ago, she started to very badly changing her behavior. She lives with me and my wife, no kids or other animals, she is trained good, she knows what to do, what not, she is very friendly with other people and dogs, even cats. We working at home, but "our" part of the house is not affected by work, there is large garden and right behind fence is state park.
The problem is - we're watching tv, dog is with us, sitting around and with no sound or movement from tv or us, dog ATTACKS, but what's worse the attack is toward US! It's not associated with anything, this aggressive behavior is showing at any part of day or evening, never toward anybody or anything else and never happened outside.
Before you know, you can se lightning fast change and she start shaking. This agressive attacks are like 20 to 30 seconds, but shaking 5 to 30 minutes.
We have this dog since puppy.
During this "attack" she generally showing teeths and growls, if we move, she barks. I probably hate rolled newspaper as much as she, but this is no help anyway.
And it's getting worse every day, I can't imagine her have puppies or us have small baby! Do somebody of you have some experience of ever heard of this?
Every possible help or contact is higly appreciated,
Thank you Tomas

Start with a veterinary check-up. It sounds like something is going on medically. If nothing can be found there, the vet can refer you to a veterinary behavior specialist. I still think it will turn out to be medical, and the veterinary behavior specialist is more likely to find that than a behavior specialist who is not a veterinarian.

Sounds to me like something is definately going on. A vet check is in order.

This is NOT a dog I would be considering breeding under any circumstances.

Statistically, the average breeder remains in a breed for five years. The mark you leave on that breed, good or bad, is entirely up to YOU!
