We have a baby yorkie - 3 months old - and he loves to be outside. When we first got him a couple of days ago, the temperatures were in the upper seventies, and he played outside for a long time. Since then, the temps have gotten colder - now about 40-50 degrees. I am afraid that he is too cold outside, but we are trying to potty train him. Today, when I took him outside for a couple of minutes, he refused to go back in because he was having fun (until today, he has come whenever we call him). Is it okay to have Yorkies out in cold weather? How long should I let him stay outside? We live in the country and he has a lot of yard to run around in. We never leave him outside alone, though. We are afraid the hawks will get him. I want him to get outside and exercise and have fun, but I don't want him to be uncomfortable or get sick. Temps are supposed to get below freezing soon. Should we avoid taking him outside? We have papers inside of the house to pottytrain him with as well, but he likes being outside.
