Peeing often

Our 9 week old Doxie does pretty good with urinating on her puppy pad but after she goes there...it can be maybe 15-20 minutes later and she pees on the carpet. Am I doing something wrong?
Also, she never poops on her puppy pad. We've even tried putting her stool on it so she would smell it there but she never poops on it. Always somewhere else.

She's too young for full housetraining. Possibly she has an infection, but it's also possible she is a dog who needs to urinate twice to fully empty. In that case you just make sure she does that in the right place.

No punishment for housetraining mistakes--that causes problems, including a dog who will avoid doing it in front of you. Treats can help. I have several housetraining articles in the Canine Behavior Series. Here's a link to that Table of Contents:
