This is a breed that I would say is not a good choice for a first time or inexperienced dog owner. It is a breed that should be owned by people who are going to take their dog to training and do the homework every day, from puppyhood through at least a year of age. The same is true of a lot of big, strong breeds. Not bad dogs, just dogs that need owners willing to step up and make a serious commitment to care of their dogs.
