Advice on training....

aal2a Mar 31, 2005 10:44 PM

I posted here a couple of times before we got our mini dachshund last summer. He is an energetic 9.8 pound chocolate & tan. We named him Amaretto and he has a great personality. He just keeps having accidents on the carpet no matter how often you take him out. You can take him out, spend 20 minutes out there and he can go twice then he'll come right in and pee on the floor! He is a year old now and I was really hoping he'd grow out of this habit. Any advice?

Nope, they don't outgrow it, they need a LOT of help from you with management and training to get the right habits. I've got several articles on housetraining at this link:
