Need info on German Shepherd Dogs

amalia8996 Apr 03, 2005 04:54 PM

I would like it if someone would give me an idea of what kind of personality and training potential and problems are with German Shepherds. I have a dog that is part German Shepherd, part Chow Chow. I would appreciate some help in this area as to the fact I only got him a month ago. He is 10 months old or so. Thanks, Amalia8996

German Shepherds are highly trainable, but Chows not so much. You may have some problems with a mix of these two breeds. There's a possibly of turning out with a dog who has a bad attitude combined with a great deal of energy and power to act on it. Training is your best chance, with an expert. It would be a good idea to ask your vet to recommend the best trainers in your area and get started on that.
