13 year old Black Lab golden mix hacking

I suspect something serious is wrong with my dog. He cough up huge amounts of flem every other minute and has lost about 20 lbs. He still eats, climbs stairs but does not bark.

Have you taken the dog to your vet? If not I would go immediately! That weight loss is dramatic and that in itself should warrant a trip to your vet. A dog of this age can have a variety of medical issues that require attention.
