Random Vomiting

Jessie226 Apr 26, 2005 07:47 AM

I am not too concerned about this yet, it's only happened twice, but Jason wanted me to post a message so here I am. Cookie has thrown up twice, for no apparent reason. Once last week and once this morning. Both times were in the morning and before her breakfast. I didn't see either one, but I asked him what it consisted of, and he said it was mostly non-digestable stuff. Bits of stick, a little fabric from toys, some hair, and other undefinable things. We know she doesn't eat sticks or toys, but I am sure sometimes little peices get past. At first we tried to keep her from playing with sticks completely but it was SUCH a hassle, so we gave up. I have watched her chew on a stick and she spits out 90% of it, the only bits I have seen her eat were really small. She does eat a decent amount of grass and I've been told that this can cause them to vomit. I know it does with cats anyways, I know cats eat grass to help them eliminate hair balls. She seems fine otherwise, doesn't seem sick or anything, and is her usual energenic self. The first time it happened, I thought well she must have just ate something outside that didn't agree with her, but since it happened twice now, I don't know what it could be. Her poops are fine though, nice and solid.
If anyone has any ideas that would be great! Thanks so much!

I know its a concern. But hopefully its just a seasonal thing, mine seem to graze more. I have become less fratic when mine vomit or even have loose stool, just 1 or 2 times. I do watch them carefully for any other signs.

Hope cookie 'recovers'. Be sure to check her mouth/teeth for anything she might have stuck in there. Let us hear

Maybe give her some plain yogurt?

I will try that, thanks! We have some plain brown rice too, maybe we will do a combo of the two for dinner tonight. We gave her the brown rice when she had diahrea a few months ago.
