I was looking at Bruno today, right into his eyes and he was looking back at me. He had just growled at me so I took his food away for 15 minutes. I put his cone back on so I could take care of things around the house and not worry about him biting his stitches. I was heating up some grub and noticed he was looking right at me so I started looking at him and he is absolutely beautiful. Then I started thinkin! Nearly every animal that God has created is incredibly beautfil. Birds for example. Take a Blue Bird. They all look alike. They are all magnificant to look at. Deer, rabbits, fox, eagle, leopards, cheetah, even snakes etc. They all look the same as another from their species and are almost all very well shaped, colored etc. Now take humans! We were created in the image of God. Even if you sub-catagorize us by race so we at least have the same skin color, there are beautiful ones and there are some really ugly ones. We are not all alike. I know that's what makes us unique but we can be really ugly. I look at myself in the mirror. I have bags under my eyes, overweight, a funny hair cut, some pimples and I am not the best dresser. It is so odd that the only animal that can really differentiate what is pleasing to the eye and what is not, is the ugliest one. HHHhhmmmmmm.....what do you think?

I live with three herding dogs who I feel sure are quite capable of appreciating many things, including beauty. They certainly don't think I'm ugly, nor did they think so when I weighed 185 pounds more than I weigh now. They helped me find my new body dimensions when I lost the weight, but they loved me the same both ways. Just because animals don't speak words doesn't mean they don't have thoughts. Mostly probably more noble thoughts than ours.

Actually animals go on "looks" too. Birds, fish, mammals... they preen, they mate with more brightly colored, etc. While their predisposition for "mates" might be based on increased likelihood of producing offspring, there is ample studies indicating that much of what humans like in other humans ALSO may be biologically prodded... such as wider hips in women.
