calmer snugglier with age?

ohmai May 13, 2005 11:57 PM

I remember when I first had my GSD...
when he was just a baby, he use to chase me around my basement trying to nibble at my toes.
Then when he grew larger and older, he use to really scare me. I couldn't walk through his backyard without getting jumped on or bit. (it hurt too!) I'm pretty, pretty sure he was only playing... -_-
Now, he's about 5 years old, human age, and he's so much calmer than before. He doesn't jump on me or bite me anymore, unless he gets really worked up and wants to play rough, and he doesn't scare me either. He's always following me everywhere, and laying by my side now and he also lets me pet him alot, and give him hugs and kisses. Before I could never do that, I was just to afraid that he'd bite me when I'm close to him, haha. I love him now, he's so adorable...

How has your GSD's changed with age?

My guy has always been snuggly and loved to climb into my lap. now that he's well over 100lbs (And growing still) it's a bit trickier for him to get there. He still trys though.

I've never let him mouth, nip or bight. I have three little boys in the house that man handle my him. I had to train him fast. Now if the kids annoy the him they get a huge face lick and the dog escapes while the kid swipes off his face.

To answer your question....... He can't get much snuglier, but he is getting a little calmer
