chihuahua hiccups?

beast May 18, 2005 04:42 AM

Hi....once or twice a day my 11 week old chihuahua gets a case of what seems like the hiccups for a period of about 30 seconds to a minute. His body shakes a bit with each one and you can hear the typical hiccup noise. Has anyone heard of this? It's not like he's choking or anything and he is acting perfectly normal otherwise. Does anyone else's chi get this? Thanks!

I think it's pretty normal for all puppies to have hiccups, my pup, Dingo, use to hiccup quite a bit when he was younger he's since out grown it.

That's good to know...thanks! I was worried it could be something else, but if other puppies have it then I won't worry about it.

Puppies of all breeds tend to get hiccups, and outgrow it as they grow up. It's not a concern.
