my adult GSD, 5 years old, who is VERY protective will get along with another dog? A puppy? He's had one dog friend before, a very friendly pitbull, and they got along quite well. I think there were some incidences that they got into fights, not sure whether it was a fight or just rough playing. But I'm getting a puppy Siberian Husky in a few weeks, and I'm wondering, do you think he'll get along with the puppy?

If you get a female, probably. If you get a male, quite possibly no.

Actually I think a lot would have to do with how well socialized your dog is. If it has been introduced to many different dogs and how it has reacted. And of course how you introduce the pup and if your dog will become jealous. If your family has been the only pack it has known for 5 years there could be trouble.
