Thought was food agression-discovered I actually have a super-finiky ESS-food advice please

fiveliter8 Jun 03, 2005 11:24 AM

Well, we were originally on SD dry food and one of our ESS's refused to eat it unless it was prettied up with iams gravy sauce or honey, etc. I found this site http://www.dogaware.com/dogfeeding.html through this board but my local pet supply stores carry none of them. I tried Kibbles N' Bits and she gobbles the stuff up, but I heard it's not the best to be feeding my "kids". I picked up some Pro Plan lamb and rice and she seems to be eating that. Is this good (for them) food or should I find out where to find the ones listed at dogaware.com? Where DO I find those foods? Thanks,

Alex

What a pair of cuties! Love the pic.

Do you have an actual pet store around you? Like PetSmart or PetCo? Either of these will carry some of these foods. I feed my girls Nutro, which isn't on this list. Just look at the food your buying and make sure that one of the first ingredients is meat. I try to steer clear of corn as it gives my girls gas. Beef also gives my girls gas, so I stick with chicken or lamb.

As the site says, there really is no bad kibble. Personally, I think whatever my dog will eat, that is what I'll feed....as long as meat is high on the list and no corn.
