My female chi has problems breathing and has really bad breath

jennairence Jun 27, 2005 08:41 PM

My chihuahua sounds like she can't breath or struggles to breathe, sounds like she has water on her lungs or she is breathing thru a flattened straw, she whines and shakes and it is almost like she stops breathing, she started doing this 2 days ago, and mostly does it at night, it goes on for about 2-3 minutes at a time. Does anyone know if this is serious? I have been doing some research and the only thing I have come up with is collapsed trachea. Can someone shed some light on this matter, I am worried about her.

On another note, her breath STINKS!!! bad! and she constantly farts, her poo is not runny or anything but its like her soul stinks! Is there anything I can do about this?

Yes, it is serious. She needs you to take her to the vet.
