My 8 month old Dobe, just had his first Obedience training

Dob3rman Jul 03, 2005 12:35 PM

I went in and the first thing the guy tells me is your gonna be pleased with him he'll do well. Anyone else had their dobe in Obedience training? Were you pleased

I've never had a Dobe, but I have seen many of them do wonderfully well in training if their owners are dedicated. It's very important to keep attending training sessions and to keep up the homework practice every day, for a minimum of several months. With your dog at 8 months, training should continue for 6 months or more, and be very structured. If you do that, you will likely be very pleased.

My boy did great. The instructor used him as an example for every command because he could pick it up DURING CLASS! He is amazing. I've trained with other "smart" breeds and my dobe has been the easiest and most pleasent to train!
Have fun!
I believe there is no limit to what a Doberman can learn.
Did anyone see the Done on the TV Show Pet Star a few months ago?
AMAZING!
