Help! Nina wants to kill things and she loves to BARK BARK BARK BARK...

mcewen123 Jul 12, 2005 02:19 AM

Hello:

This is my first time here, and I come to you in desperation!

Nina is three years old. She's a great family pet, very loving and smart and fun.

HOWEVER:

1. Many things will send her into a barking frenzy, and we are rarely able to stop it. Other dogs barking, and other dogs being walked along our street get her going.

2. Nina is aggressive with other animals. During walks, she goes crazy if she sees another dog. She barks and growls and tries to get a piece of it.

3. Two dogs live on the other side of the fence. They are outside 24 hours a day. Nina wants at them. She tries to bite through the wood fence as she barks.

This makes her sound like a monster, but she isn't! She is great with our family and our human guests.

But any help you can provide with my problems listed above is welcome.

Many thanks,

William

...and I realize this might be part of the problem.

On my link below, check out the articles Barking, Head Halter, Attention Please, and Training: What Does Your Dog Need? I think you're likely to need in-person help with this dog. Your vet may be able to recommend a good local trainer.
