I was just wondering whether the fur/hair on a bc grows at a constant rate, or do they go through stages of very short hair? I realise that bcs can have varying lengths, but I was just wondering about those with longer hair. Ive never actually owned a pure bc, and Maddie was always going to look more like the boxer side of her. However, when i first bought Cody he looked as though he would be more of a bc with cattle dog markings; he had the fluffy appearance of a bc pup. Then he sort of 'grew into' his hair, and started to look much more like a ACD. Now he is 21 weeks, and I am excited at the appearance of longer hair again; his tail is looking hairy, and the fur on the back of the neck is becoming quite thick and long.

Im just wondering whether the forum readers think he will end up looking more like a bc or ACD? It doesnt really matter, I love him to bits; but ive always had a soft spot for borders, and I guess im just curious to hear the opinion of people experienced with the breed.

The photo is one that i took today, you can see that his tail is starting to grow visible long hair, but its hard to see the hair around his neck.
