Iris Cysts

My dog's sire has 'Iris Cysts' (not sure if I spelled that right) in both of his eyes.

Is this a genetic trait? I am taking Gallagher to have his eyes tested this summer (along with hips)

IF he passes all his required health tests, and obtains his Canadian Championship (5 points already!) the breeding restrictions will be lifted and he'll be allowed to stud (this is with the contract I signed when adopting a 'promising puppy')

My big question is this; even if he passes his eye test, is there a chance this 'deformity' could be passed on through breeding? Or is this 'trait' non-genetic?
