I'm not involved in Schutzhund, and am from the NE, so I can't directly help you. However, you might try contacting a Doberman club in your geograpic area. I am not a member of the United Doberman Club, but they are more involved in the sport of Schutzhund so you might try contacting them. They have a website with a listing of clubs.

There is also a chapter club of the DPCA in Tennessee and someone in that club might be able to give you some ideas. Look on the website at www.dpca.org to see if there is contact info for the Tennessee club.

With all due respect, Schutzhund is a sport that requires a great deal of patience and commitment. Many of the clubs require a minimum of two 2 hour sessions per week. The various aspects of the sport (obedience, tracking and protection) take many, many hours of laying a proper foundation. It is not something that progresses quickly, and unfortunately, you've already given an indication that you don't have patience when it comes to dog training.

OTOH, maybe some exposure to people who do commit themselves to the sport may help you to realize that slow and steady is the way to go. It's a journey, not a race.

Yea im a bit impatient. Im 17 years old and this is the first dog ive taken care of. all my other ones were tied up out front, like a rat terrier and a beagle and stuff because i was too young, but now i try and keep him him, i brush him efveryday and i brush his teeth every other day...its a learning proces for both of us
