I know it is common for Doxies to not like strangers, but is there ANY way i can get her to stop barking once she knows that the person is a friend?? She is 3 years old, and she has already given her habit to the new puppy that we got this year.
Any info is appreciated!!

Sounds like you need the help of an in-person dog trainer with both dogs. Dachshunds certainly can be barkers. They can be trained, and respond well to working for treats, but you really need a trainer in person to teach you how.

A clicker might help. My doxies just attack people with love after they get to know them. Maybe get some books on the subject.
