Hi,

This is where we stand now.

We have a place in Pilot Point Tx. where we can move dogs into for
transport
out to other rescues. It is stocked with 2200 lbs of dog food. We
have
arranged to have a vet on standby who will give us rescue rates, the
community is willing to step up and help. The 4 h club is ready to
send
kids in to help with the dogs. We do have new bedding that has been
donated. The need that we have now is for crates. If you can
donate a
crate please email me privately for the address in Pilot Point. I
need
to
keep track of who and how many.

We also need transport folks who are ready to move dogs out of Baton
Rouge.
We are moving them into Tx. Anyone willing to transport please know
that
gas is very iffy in the areas. We do need a transport for tomorrow
from
Baton Rouge to Houston. It will be for 2-3 Dobes and Kim's birds.
We
will
also need transport to all points west and east. We have tried to
be
prepared for this. We thought a few days ago we were out of the
woods,
we
are not.

Steve and I are in contact with Kim and Amy. Kim is headed into her
home
area to do search and rescue. Amy is going to LSU (now called
shanty
town)
to help the dogs there. Amy's husband is taking the boat and going
to
New
Orleans for body recovery.

The things that they need immediately: water, non perishable food,
meds
&
gas. They need Interecptor, Proin, Hydroxyzine. Most of the vet
facilities have been destroyed. If you can help please contact me
for
the
address. This way I can monitor that which has been donated and
that
which
is still needed. They also need cash. There are no banks left
standing. I
encourage you to send money to SND with "disaster" in the message
box
so
that money will go for the Dobes in need. Cash for Dobe families
can
be
sent privately. Please email me for the address.

At this time we do not know how big of an endeavor we are facing.
We
are
trying to prepare for the worst. I right now do not have time to
thank
all
of you who have stepped forward to help. I will. The needs of this
disaster will change daily. I will keep you updated as those needs
change.

To anyone who can do transport please be careful. I hate asking
folks
to go
into this situation. Gas price gouging if you can find gas is
rampant
If
you can transport and be on standby to transport please let me know.

I am putting my numbers out but you will have to leave a message.
You
may
use my cell phone if you know of a Doberman in the disaster area
that
needs
help. That number is 918-409-4554. My home phone is 918-366-4554.
I
also
ask that if you can use email for Steve and me. We need to be able
to
reach
each other 24/7.
We are facing a very long haul. Please hang in there with us.
These
Dobes
need our help.

Please send the donations to SND ( www.doberman 911.org ).

To all who have contacted us please be on standby.

You may crosspost.

There will be more to follow.

Sincerely,
Marcia
