I really need some information

tonyandwillo Sep 05, 2005 07:59 PM

I recently bought a rescue shepherd off the internet, I was told by the rescue group which is the golden retriever rescue group out of Maine, that she was purebred. I started to question it because I was told she looked mixed. The lady at the group assured me she was a purebred. I got the mother and father information from her foster mom and found the pics on the internet. Can someone please look at them and let me know what you think of these picture. The pics will follow but this is our puppy.

I looked at the pics of mom and dad, and they to me, look purebred, the mom could be a sable colored.

Yours, does look lighter than the parents, and females who are bred CAN have puppies by different sires in the same litter.

Were the parents akc registered? why did the puppy end up in rescue and not taken back by the breeder?

I'm not saying YOURS is not purebred, hard to tell with just a head shot vs a full body shot.

what a cutie! She definaly has a long coat. In the summer the coat thins out a bit but before winter you should see it fill out again. She's pretty light in color but still within the color spectrum of German Shepherds. She has a great sadle. I'm not positive but I think she looks more like the American line.

She looks like a GSD and do her parents. She looks like she has the plush coat. My chec bloodline has the plush coat. What are her bloodlines?? (i.e. American, German, working, show) Did they give you any of that?

Anyway, GSD color does change as they get older. My female that I got was solid blak when I got her at 9wks. By 6 months old she was a beautiful black/mah.
