Pain when potty-ing

amapri993 Sep 24, 2005 07:47 AM

My puppy cries when she poops!
It is killing me! She just got spayed on Thursday (9/22), is that why? Is that an effect from the surgery, that it will cause her some pain when she goes #2? From her muscles being cut up?
Her stool is very large and solid, could that be causing the pain? We are going to try to get her to drink more, if that will help. But then what is causing the large, solid stool? Dehydration? Pain medicine?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Don't play around with this, take her to a veterinarian.

Just wanted to post what happened- in case anyone else ever deals with this or has this happen to their pup.
We took her in and the Dr said she was ok. It could be one of 2 things he thinks- she might have the pain from some swollen glands- he did empty some fluid out.
The other thing it might be is colitis- inflammed colon- from the stress of the surgery and being boarded. This would go away on its own he said.
Other wise- he said everything looked and felt fine.
Thought others might like to know this future referance~
