Hey there guys.. I don't have a lot of time, just wanted everyone to know that I'm safe and breathing, Kaiser is as lively as ever.. The entire family is staying at my cousins' house which is bigger than my parents.. There are 8 dogs here right now. Lets see, Azia and Horatio are my cousins' pekingese. Ivy, my mom's tiny shih tzu. Mya, my dad's mutt. Kaiser, of course.. Blue, our irish wolfhound.. And Kane and Brett are my aunt's husband's danes.. It's absolute chaos most days here. There are 17 people living on the property. My family and my cousins who own the place are in the main house and the other two families are living in the pool and beach houses..
My uncle is alive and doing well. He suffered a minor fracture to his leg and a couple of broken ribs when he took a fall trying to get to his dogs. It's serious enough that we can't move him up here yet but there are family members staying there that will bring him up here when he's able.. He was airlifted out, he says, and they wouldn't allow him to bring any of his dogs. The neighbours who returned found what seems to be the remains of the one that had survived.
One of my closest friends growing up, my cousin, passed away about 2 weeks ago. She had a very serious illness that got worse with the stress from the original accident early in the summer. All of the bad news from the hurricane was just too much for her system..
I'm sorry to the staff here at doghobbyist, I may post on occasion to see how everyone is doing but I just don't have the energy to devote to being a mod.. I can't believe how much my life has changed in the last few months, and all of a sudden helping out here just can't make my top 10 priority list any more..
