shih tzu puppy behaviors

jzzlvr13 Oct 06, 2005 08:50 AM

We have a wonderful seven month old shih tzu puppy who has a few behaviours I would like to work on. Any help would be appreciated.

He has bonded terribly to me, cries when I leave, wants to be near me all of the time. How do we get him to start interacting more with my my husband?

How do we get him from nipping when playing with us?

How do we cut down his yipping? It is definitely his attempt at communication but he tries to communicate a lot!
thanks in advance,
Barbara

Your husband could feed him, play with him, take him for walks, and groom him. Read the article on Bonding at the link below my signature.

At the same link is an article on Puppy Biting that explains how to handle that, and a nifty method for handling the barking in the Barking article.

You're very welcome! I add a new article each week, so it keeps growing, too.
