there is a bill *about to pass* that is attached to a larger agriculture bill that will require that all dogs be micro-chipped....BUT
the type of chip that will be required is one that is read by a frequency that is different than the ones currently being used..???
implication? is that all other chips will become obsolete?

I'd think that your vet (mine does the AVID) would have some clue about this? Anyway, there is enough info here to at least begin to track its validity.
