Shepard mix needs loving home...

kc623 Oct 11, 2005 10:02 PM

This is Max! Max was found about a week ago on one of my routes. He was bloody, beaten and left at one of the parks I work at.His lower jaw and chin was swollen with a huge gash and looked like someone had kicked him senseless.
I cleaned him up and tended his wounds and found him to be just a wonderful loving dog.I have been taking him on my routes with me and he is very well behaved, with an excellent temperment and also well mannered. He listens and obeys and is also kennel and house trained. He never runs away and just wants to be where you are.He is also fixed.
I will assume it was a man that beat him beacuase he is very leery and takes a bit of warming up to before he approaches a man. However he loves women and has no problem with them and shows affection right away.
Unfortunately I cannot take Max home and I have three of my own rescues. My bosses want him gone so I have one week to find him a home.He spends most his time in an outside kennel at the shop where I work and on the days I work he rides along with me.On my days off I pick him up and take him for a ride and run.He is the most loving dog I have ever been around.

Max looks like a beautiful dog and sounds like a great one as well. I love his color. It a shame someone had to beat him. I live in NY so I can't be of much help but maybe you can also place a post in the German Shephard forum. In the meantime are there any German Shephard rescue groups in your area that you can call? Maybe even a national rescue can help you find one. He is beautiful and needs a good home...good luck and please keep us updated.

Max has a new home
I took him for his morning run and met a couple who thought he would make the perfect companion for their elderly mom.
Well the mom fell in love right away with him and he is adjusting well.
Thanks for the moral support and effort given to help Max.
