Please crosspost widely:
Woodbridge NJ Animal Control is partnering with their volunteer group, Woodbridge Animal Group (WAG) to raise money specifically for a particular dog in need. Chance is a 6 year old yellow lab who was turned in to the ACO by an owner in the midst of a divorce who requested she be PTS. We find that she has a treatable ear infection and is blind, but she is still playful, lovable and vibrant. As such, we have found her a temporary foster home and are fundraising for the money to give her cataract surgery to restore her vision. The prognosis for this is very good. Chance deserves a new family and the opportunity to greet them with her loving and seeing eyes again. Her foster says she gets along well, tries to play ball as well as she can and even manages steps as is, but ideally we will get her the cataract surgery. Our fundraising goal is $1500. We have raised $200 already and are sponsoring a bake sale during our adoption day at Petsmart next week to kick off a more concentrated effort. We are also adding extra days Petsmart with just Chance to give us an opportunity more raise more money. A website dedicated to Chance's story should be up in a day or so and I have pictures available by email upon request. I am asking all of you to help me spread the word, and am open to any fundraising ideas any of you may have as well. Our group has never done this before, all our collections have just been for the general fund.
