burmese python's anus inflamed

brittanybugz Oct 09, 2003 06:14 PM

Can anyone help me in identifying my snakes problem?
my python is VERY wild and aggressive so it was hard to get a good look at her problem. her anus is inlarged and pink about the size of a golfball. She is only about 4 feet long give or take a few inches. i cannot find any pictures of snake diseases on the internet anywhere. does anyone have any ideas?

what does it mean when the snake cannot keep it's tongue in it's mouth? it is always hanging out.

This snake needs to go to a veterinarian asap.

The "inflamed anus" you describe sounds like a prolapsed cloaca to me, which is a condition that requires surgery to repair.
The tongue hanging out all of the time could be indicative of a number of ailments and would be impossible to try to diagnose in this forum.
