Walking and Car ride problem.

Sexsi Dec 07, 2005 03:19 PM

I have a Newf that lives with my mom, whenever she goes out for a walk she goes on guard. For example if we walk past someones house she starts barking at them. She has never done this before. She just started doing this within the last year. She is neuterd and 7 years old. We no longer take her for long walks, as we think she might accidently hurt someone some day. She is very protected of whoever is walking in. Also she is the same way when shes outin the car. Nobody and walk up to or past the car, because she starts barking. The vet had said that this is her way of protecting us. I was wondering what we can do to ease her while out walking.

A head halter could help. I have an article about them at the link below my signature. I also have an article about barking with several ideas for various situations.
