new boxer

stanleytl04 Dec 14, 2005 07:28 PM

I am considering getting a new boxer puppy. I want a male fawn and white one. The tail is coming docked and I want to get the ears done too. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on a name for the dog. The two that I like the most I've thought up so far are Harley and Rosco.

Welcome!!! I'm of the opinion that dogs "name" themselves. I've had names picked out for my pups and once I get them, those pre-decided names just no longer fit and I'm on the search again.

I like your two suggestions so far. Good luck and post back with pics when you have them.

Dear dog,
I can not buy anything larger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think that I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of dogs sleeping, they can actually curl up in a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to your fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straigt out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing more than doggy sarcasm.

Great name choices! I'm horrible with pickign names, so I say whatever you like will work.

Can I ask why you want two young pups together at the same time? That can be incredibly tough-especially in the first year. Double the teething, trouble, messes to clean up. Double the obedience/puppy classes. Lots of hard work. Sorry, I just can't imagine raising two puppies at the same time. My dogs are 3 years apart and that can even become a lot of work at times- especially since I do work them both.

Hope you have fun with your new additions.
