Huge leaps forward!

Well, Kaiser has been with us almost 11 months now, and has been living with my parents for training for about 2.5 months.

His training has gone so extraordinarily well that he is coming home with me New Years day, I'm so thrilled!

But by far the biggest news is that my sister (who had the most problems with him in the past) has been taking him to formal obedience classes where he has been behaving exceptionally well. Thanks to all the work my dad has done with him he has not growled, snapped, or even raised the fur on his neck once during 5 weeks of classes so far. When I got him formal training was absolutely out of the question because of his aggression toward people, and now my sister says he gets very happy and excited when they pull into the parking lot each week. He's not only not being aggressive, but he's actually starting to be excited about meeting new people and seems to have realized that they mean no harm to him or his family.

I'm thrilled! We've already got 2 more obedience courses lined up at the local kennel club for when he comes home with me.. And to think I had been completely convinced that an aggressive dog could not be turned around..

Dogs come into our lives, and too quickly go leaving pawprints on our hearts, and we will never be quite the same again.
