humping gone wrong

Got a quick question for you all. For those who dont know i have a female Maddi (13 months) and a male Cody (10 months). Both were desexed at about 6 months. Recently we have noticed Maddi mounting Cody quite frequently. At first we thought it was a dominance thing (they can be very competitive for our attention at times) however, all night she has been doing it without knowing we could see them. Any ideas? Is it common for females to behave in this way?

I'd have her checked medically, and distract her away from doing it every time she starts. There are various possibilities for why it could be happening, and some physical ones would call for medical intervention.
