I'm sorry I don't. You might want to ask a breed club or national doberman organization. They could probably tell you more than you want to hear about the subject.

Dear dog,
I can not buy anything larger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think that I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of dogs sleeping, they can actually curl up in a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to your fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straigt out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing more than doggy sarcasm.

I've never heard of it. could you be confusing it with a mini pin?

I don't think that there are any natural earred Dobermans with true erect ears. There are some that hold their ears up pretty high when alert - and the ear set is what some breeds call a "rose ear". It folds back when relaxed instead of hanging down, and then kind of goes up when alert - I've also seen Dobermans whose ear sets cause their ear to fold forward instead of hang down ... they kind of get that almost alert ear too. It is not a proper ear set for a Doberman whose natural ear is normally too large to look good standing even if it would.

What some people also don't realize is that a cropped Doberman has muscular control of their ear and does not carry them erect all the time - they move them around quite a bit. I am always surprised when some one asks me if one of my Dobermans is cropped - they have long show crops that stand beautifuly...but they don't hold them up 24/7.

I have pictures on my personal website of my first Doberman - a BYB girl with lovely natural ears, a rescue I fostered with those natural ears that almost stand, another rescue with nice cropped ears, and my own dogs with show cropped ears. Feel free to look at them.

Thanks for the info. i do have a lot of dog breed books that say that Dobs can be born with naturally erect ears.. oh well...
Lovely dogs you have, and well done on the dobe rescue work.

hmmmmm interesting - I don't claim to be an expert. I do know that a Doberman that would have a naturally erect ear would look more like a Pharaoh hound - they kind of have big huge bat ears. Not exactly the look I would want for a Dobe - LOL! I do think that they are most likely talking about the dogs that have a more "rose" earset. A lot of people don't realize that Greyhounds can put their ears up also because they keep them folded back most of the time. When they do put them up, it is really almost startling how big they truly are - LOL! It is rumored that the Greyhound is what gives the Doberman their elegant look, so it would not be too far of a stretch to think that the earset might show up sometimes too.... I really don't know.
