my 10 week old chiuaua is too wild to teach tricks.

well we got her about 4-5 days ago. she was nice and quiet the first few days we got her, but now shes really energetic. she is a house dog and has the living room and kitchen to herself. all the rooms/bathroom are closed off to her.

she sleeps in her bed which is a cushion and i put her into a crate when i wake up to accustom her to it (for the future when i take her to the vet).

when i try to have one on one time with her and teach her tricks, she sniffs around at things and rarely listens. today though she came to me 4-5 times when i called her and i gave her treats. after that she was just wandering around and sniffing things. if she is not doing this she is running around wildly. any suggestions?

Jerome, first off I would say you have only had your pup for 4 or 5 days. To her this is a whole new world to explore other than being with her mother. It may take a few weeks for her to get accustomed and feel secure in her surroundings. Be patient and take it one step at a time, some Chi's are just a little more stubborn than others but they are a very intelligent dog. They will learn quickly and with gentle positive reinforcment will soon obey your commands. Have you given any thought to attending puppy classes?

oh i see, how long should i wait for her to become attentive and such? i've thought about taking some classes, but i do not work. how much do they cost? how do they usually work? do i leave my puppy there or what?

There really isn't a need to wait, your girl is already attentive. She is just very young and doing what puppys do. The idea would be to keep your training sessions short so she doesn't become distracted. If she does then stop and start over later. Be patient and don't try to do force her to do anything just keep using some positive reinforcement. You have a great little dog and she'll be a great companion for you. The cost for puppy classes varies so you would have to find what would work for you. No you don't leave your puppy you stay there and work with her alongside other new puppy owners and their dogs. You will learn how socialize your puppy with the other puppys and how to perform simple basic commands. You will also learn the correct way to handle your puppy for grooming and nail clippings etc. If you can swing it I would highly recommend attending them.
