Hi everyone. I own a female english bulldog named Paws. She is 6 yrs. old. I don't know anyone else that owns a bulldog so I found all of you!!
I will be posting often. Paws is not in very good heath. She is in renal failure so we(my husband and I) have to give an i.v. of fluids every night and she has to be on prescription food.
she is doing well since we caught it early....you wouldn't even know that she is sick. Her daughter died fron this because we caught it to late.

Has anyone else had an english bulldog that this happened to? Just wondering if it is common in this breed.
Thanks everyone!!

I'm sorry to hear about the health issues your dog is having. Kudos to you for the dedication and care of giving IV fluids on a daily basis.

I don't have bulldogs, but would love to hear about your english bulldog. I had contemplated the breed when on the search for my first dog. Decided it might be a bit too stubborn even for me. I would love to learn more though.

Dear dog,
I can not buy anything larger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think that I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of dogs sleeping, they can actually curl up in a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to your fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straigt out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing more than doggy sarcasm.

Yeah she is a lot of work but i love her and i couldn't imagine not doing it for her ......to keep her as comfortable as possible until it's time to put her down.
On top of the kidney failure we also found out that she has panice which i have to put drops in her eyes every morning and night and she also has one of those interdigital cysts that was talked about on one of the other posts.
so what type of dog did you end up deciding on?
