How Do I Get My Basset On To Holistic Dog Food Slowly But Surely?

I had always wanted to Get Dutchie on this for a while but due to the price I figure my mother wpuldn't go for it but she pulled me off the computer to read that & she told me how she felt about it so since I intereted in this can you please send me all the info on how to start this slowly? because I buy 50 Pounds of Nutro Weight Control Dry Dog Food to last for at Least 2 Months. So as soon as runs out I want to start her on this slowly.

What do you mean by a more holistic food? Some folks mean a different kibble, others mean homecooked, while others equate raw foods with a holistic diet.

If you mean a homeprepared diet (cooked or raw, i feed cooked), there is a a learning curve to doing this, but I don't think it's as complicated as many make it out to be.

I would recommended hopping over to www.doggiedietician.com and get on Monica Segal's nutrition list and ask your question. They have folks there that can get you started and can help guide you along.

I'm not on these boards much, but I know there are many active boards over at www.idog.com, or at the link below where you can browse and get idea of what you want to do.
