I'm really curious as to how someone could have an "Aztec" Okeetee. I produced the first "Aztecs" out there and absolute NONE of them had any Okeetee in them. In fact, the parent stock was from wild caught animals around Lake Okachobe, Florida mixed with a couple normals from Rich Zuchowski.
The only other originator of unrelated (at least at that time)Zipper, Aztec or Zig-Zag's was Bill Love. And his animals were not Okeetee's either.
So it seems to me that as long as they are zigzag, zipper or aztec they COULDN'T POSSIBLY be Okeetee anything!
Or were yours from a seperate line that I've never heard of? Just asking....

I produced them by breeding some Okeetees together that all had partial ziz-zag/Aztec patches on them.

If that is representative of your progress so far then you have a few generations to go to make a truly zigzag or aztec type corn. If you've got some decent pure Okeetee's to work with however it might be worth the trouble.
Good luck!

John, I have nothing but respect for you and your work with cornsnakes and value your input. In just about every of my phone conversations with Jeff, sooner or later he ends up talking about you, the aztecs, and the Lavs....that being said...take a look at this adult female and some of her babies from this year:

BTW, the Okeetees I have are John Meltzer stock, my friend Bill picked them out from what John called his "best Okeetee stock" years ago

He's much darker and has excellent color. He was in shed in this photo.

Those pics are amazing! My jaw is on the floor. You are way further along with that strain than I realized. It would be fantastic if you could at least maintain 1 line of those that you can trace with locality data.
I'd like to get a couple of those from you down the road if possible.

Sure, email me next summer if you're still interested.

Those are absolutely stunning. How much would you want for one of those beauties next spring? I would love one.
