World's ugliest dog

matt_fl Jan 28, 2006 03:11 PM

I recently heard of this "world's ugliest dog." I looked it up on google and saw many blogs on it. It made me sick! Not the dog. The people. I couldn't believe what people were saying about that dog. Is that how everything is valued today. It really sucks. Everyone that wanted that dog to be put to sleep for the way it looked should look just like that dog. I'm not a dog breeder or a dog hobbyist. I respect animals though and love my dog. She's a rescue mut named Lucky.

Matt,
I agree with you. I didn't do any research on the dog but if it's the dog I saw featured, I thought it was a cutie. Ugly is only in the eye of the beholder.

Matt I agree. I think the dog looked pretty good for a 15 year old Chinese Crested. Sadly the dog passed away in November 2005.
Congrats on your rescue dog, I have 3 Shiba Inu's and 2 came from rescue.

I haven't looked it up on the 'net, but I've always disliked the title "World's Ugliest Dog." I also don't like the expression "just a pet." What, after all, is more important than the work dogs do as companions to humans?

I agree with you, Kathy. Even your service dogs are usually pets to the people they serve. I read recently about a police dog in my town who is going to be retired and will become a pet in the home of his handler.
