Showing Boxers... help?

Breawnabarr Jan 29, 2006 06:12 PM

Just started showing a flashy fawn 4 year old male. He doesn't seem to listen to me, just his liver treats. He jumps and yanks on the leash and lunges at the judge to lick his or her hands and face. No matter how much we practice. Tips would really be helpful! Email me at Breawnabarr@aol.com

You might want to introduce a clicker for this dog's training. The "click" becomes the reward and the food not the absolute focus. Overall though you just have to keep plugging away at it. Modify your techniques a bit and raise the criteria to get treats.

Dear dog,
I can not buy anything larger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think that I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of dogs sleeping, they can actually curl up in a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to your fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straigt out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing more than doggy sarcasm.
