Do dogs unpotty train themselves?

iam7617115 Feb 19, 2006 10:52 AM

So I always thought that my dog was potty trained. In the mornings if she needed to be left out she would whine to let us know. Or if she is out of her cage she would get our attention. But this morning, I woke up early, and thought I'd just let her out to pee even though she hadn't whined or made a sound yet. As soon as I opened the crate door she peed a little, and then ran onto our bed, lied down and peed on herself, and all over our bed. Was she not able to hold it? WHy didn't she tell us she needed to go?

Female dogs of any breed are highly susceptable to Urinary Tract Infections commonly called UTI's. A trip to your vet may be needed since there might be a medical issue going on. Good luck and please post back with an update.

If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.

I agree, but Sibes are very intelligent and sometimes are simply making a statement...

She may have an infection. If this persists take her to the vet.

Quite honestly, I don't have my dogs "tell me" they need to go out. I just make sure I let them out on a schedule. Now, my dogs if they had their way would "ask" to go outside 24/7 because they LOVE the outdoors so this is waht works best for me.

If this odd behavior happens again with your girl, suspect a medical problem. Husky's are not prone to having bathroom problems.

Dear dog,
I can not buy anything larger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think that I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of dogs sleeping, they can actually curl up in a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to your fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straigt out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing more than doggy sarcasm.
