Warning: Gross: Husky vomit

anne_elizabeth Feb 28, 2006 01:33 AM

I posted this ques. on the Holistic Vet board but maybe it would help to hear from other Husky owners...maybe it is a common Husky problem...

My 4 month old occasionally vomits his food, hours after eating. It looks like the kibble is not even digested. Are huskies prone to this??? Obviously he is not chewing his food before swallowing because the kibbles are whole and intact.

I give him a small amount of dry kibble in the morning for him to graze on while he's outside.

At noon and evening he gets a cup of kibble mixed with (mmmm, yummy...) a small amount of boiled beef brisket/broth.

Please advise if you can...I know by now how smart Huskies are, and if this is going to involve tricking him, food wise, in any way---ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Whyohwhyohwhyyyyyyyyyyy can't he chew his food??? Does it HAVE to be swallowed whole???

Thanks ya'll......................

There could be an ingredient in the food your pup is allergic to. What is the brand of the dry kibble? The holistic vet is going to tell you to stop the kibble and feed a raw diet.

My little guy is doing better now. I fed him only beef and broth yesterday--he was fine with that, gobbled it down---and today just a LITTLE kibble mixed with his beef and broth. Now it's time for supper, and we shall see if he can keep down another feeding.

Fortunately he is scheduled for a vet appt. on Saturday. I can ask about this vomiting thing.
