Hi everyone just aquired a GS pup about a month ago she is 13 wks now and I personelly think she is gorgeous! I have had about 3 GSD's in the past and all wonderful dogs but have never had the problem I have with this one (Camille) she is not eating like I think she should...she likes to go to the bowl and get a few bites here and there. she has been to the vet and he gave her a clean bill of health except for him asking me if she came from back east which she did he said that he found 1 little hookworm egg in the stool I brought him ..but said it could be a slacker ..the breeder had wormed her 4 times before I got her at 9 wks. California have no hookworms that is why the vet asked if she came from back east. We do have heartworm cases here in Cali so she is on hearworm once a month.
I have her on Eukunuba large breed puppy and the lamb and rice for puppy also mixed together she eats it but not like I want her to. I have always giving them all they can eat for about five minutes until the next feeding anyone have any suggestions or should I keep her bowl full so she can eat when she wants to?
I would have posted a pic but don't know how to here so can anyone help me there to..please?

Hi and welcome to the board. Pull up a crate and make yoursef at home. I don't have a German Shepherd but I'm sure someone on the board will be able to help you.

As far as posting pictures...it may sound complicated at first but it's really very simple once you do it a few times. Here are some directions that may help you.

Click on Photo Gallery at the top of the board.

Go to German Shepherd.

If you are not already logged on you will have to do so.

Go to Upload Photos.

In the Browse Box, find the photo on your computer that you want to upload.

Enter a title. This will help you find the right photo after you have a few of them uploaded.

Lastly, upload photo. Hope I didn't leave anything out.

Keeping the bowl full would probably only make her pickier. Watch her carefully and get her to the vet promptly if further symptoms. I'd also have bloodwork done just in case--it's always worth it to me. On heartworm preventive, Interceptor controls hookworms. My Belgian Tervuren have been on it for 13 years and done great.

hi, if you have a clean bill ( and i do mean bill) of health from your vet, you might just have a picky eater. Jenna, my first, got her at 8 weeks, went in and out of pigging out every meal to just what you wrote. It didn't bother me couse I'd seen this in my bros malamute. jenna and now remy( saved her 5 mounths ago) both eat in sperts, both are older now ,Jenna is 3 on the 23 and remy she turned 7 dec 11 05. =========As long as she is get'n bigger and the vet visits go well, have fun with, in my opinion, the best dog a person could ask for,and that dog is again, thats right a german shepherd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pics jenna(top) remy(bottom)
