My little Italian Greyhound seems to have scraped off part of the padding that is under her front left paw. It is not the padding right under her foot but high up on the back where I guess here ankle would be. The padding is completely off of half of the "bump." I have cleaned it, put antibiotic ointment on it, and bandaged it and am wtching to make sure she does not mess with it. It looks ok - actually kinda gross and painful - but not infected or swollen. Will this grow back? Should I get her in to the vet? Please let me know what you think, in all the dogs I have had, I have never encountered this problem.
