Good for you! I hope it changes the opinion of at least one person and hopefully more.

Chelle and the rest of the crew including, but not limited to Kita and Taiko (the shiba inu wrestle maniacs), Adi (reserved and dignified tabby cat), and all 28 reptiles

Very nice response! Maybe people will educate themselves and realize these dogs are not as bad as their purported reputation perceives them to be.

If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.
Good for you, Sara. Just maybe it will open a few eyes.

I agree with you. We had adopted a beautiful 10 week old lab/pitbull cross about 17 years ago from the Humane Society. At that time, we were told that we had to put an extra $100.00 deposit down to ensure that he would be neutered because of his breed. Of course we had every intentio of neutering him anyway so that was not a big deal. He was a wonderful, gentle dog who only last year had to be euthanized because of old age and failing health. He was the best dog and we miss him so much. Never once did we have a problem with him. He attended obedience school for two difference classes. I agree that they get a bad reputation. You can always tell the people who shouldn't own these dogs but own them to train them to be bad dogs. I always hate when you ask someone what kind of dog they have and they stand up straight, puff their chests out and say "a rottie" - so there is another breed having problems.
I had friends who owned 5 pitbulls. They had alot of problems with their neighbors even though the dogs were in a large dog run and the galvanized fence was 15 feet high and they were never out of the yard because the neighbors kept complaining to the police (even if they tried to take one dog for a walk at a time on a leash). I house-sat for them once and did not have a problem.
Good for you for writing the article.
p.s. my little pom-terrier cross nips more than our lab/pit ever did! she has never bit anyone but she gets frightened and at times nips a little. i just say that all creatures, big and small, need to be treated with patience, respect and understanding.
That is great. Now the rest of us need to do it LOL.
