Mali Uro Pairs

Hi everyone,
I currently have just one male mali (young, ~8 inches) and I will soon be building him a new cage (60" x 30" x 16" I'm just wondering if mali's do well in m/f pairs, or better on their own? I feel like he's lonely, but I dont know alot about reptile behavior, since he's my 1st and only reptile. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with malis, or uros in general, being kept together?

Also, if anyone has any tips on the cage construction I would love to hear them. I'm thinking of using melamine boards on 3 sides and bottom, plexiglass on the front, and wire mesh for the cover. Sound about right? Thanks for your time everyone.
