Circles?

DONGP Mar 28, 2006 01:29 PM

Hello folks!

We have two Chihuahuas. The most recent of the two is a year old.
He's an old fellow. He'll pace the floor in circles for a good five minutes at times. The constant click click click can get a bit nerving for us late at night. When we give him a dog treat he'll walk in circles before settling down to eat it.

When we let him inside the house after doing his business outside, he'll take a few steps after entering the house and then do a 180 and walk the rest of the way inside. He won't go up and down the stairs at all. We've tried everything. He rather be carried down.

Everything he does before what he is suppose to do he'll walk in circles. We find this amusing but is all this normal?

Not normal, no. He needs to be medically checked. I'd suspect brain damage or bone/joint problem, possibly a knee.
