are all male nosy bes definetly blue? or is it luck of the draw

Most CB Nosy Be Panthers are blue but the truth is not all Nosy Be's are solid blue. If you look at books that have pictures taken of wild Nosy Be Panthers you will see that the typical coloration is a vivid green with red eye turrets. It is believed that the blue coloration was a sub-population of Nosy Be Panthers that lived in the island but certainly there are still some very blue animals that come from the wild.

Selective breeding in captivity has allowed for mainly the blue color to be in the hobby and gives the impression that saying Nosy Be Blue is a given but this is not always true as you can have solid green ones. Most of the time you will get blue or bluish looking animals when you breed CB animals that come from blue bloodlines but you can certainly get greener animals when you add wild bloodlines.

It depends. Nosey be's might be all green with very little other colors. Nosey Be is the Island where this local comes from, the chameleons from Nosey Be range from green to blues. What you want is a Nosey Be Blue.The Nosey Be Blues, as long as they are true Nosey be Blues, are always going to be very blue, a few have a little red or yellow, but if you get one from a qualitly breeder, you can get one that is all blue. If you see a Nosey Be advertised (as aposed to a Nosey be Blue), it likely is going to be very green. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
